Hydrogen Canada is developing a blue hydrogen project in Alberta which will be exported to South Korea. The initial target of the project is to produce 300 metric tons per day of blue hydrogen from natural gas with more than 90% of carbon byproduct captured and permanently sequestered. The produced hydrogen will be transported as ammonia via rail to the West Coast export terminal. Alberta has the potential to produce one of the most economical blue hydrogens compared to other regions in the world and can supply environmentally friendly blue hydrogen to the markets transitioning to hydrogen economy such as Korea. Through this Project, Hydrogen Canada aims to revitalize Alberta’s economy and supply blue hydrogen/ammonia to such markets.
